Harassment

Harassment is a behavior intended to disturb or upset other people. It includes offensive comments at specific individuals focusing for example on gender, race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation. This often occurs in chat rooms, through newsgroups, and by sending hate e-mail. People are bullied online through different methods some of them are listed below:

• Harassing the victim during a live chat.
• Leaving abusive messages on Web site guest books.
• Sending the victim pornography or other graphic material that is knowingly offensive.
• Creating a Web page or writing an entry on a blog that describes the victim in negative way.
• Exposing private images or videos.
