Depression:

 

There are 121 million people suffering with depression worldwide.  2/3 of those suffering from depression never seek treatment. There are 8.3 percent of teens suffering from depression for at least a year at a time, compared to 5.3 percent of the general population. Untreated depression is the number one cause of suicide, and suicide is the third leading cause of death among teenagers.

 

Props, Crew and Timing:

  • divorce papers, 0:10 sec, over the shoulder zoom in and focus on the word divorce.

  • sitting alone, 0:10 sec, zoom into her face.

  • low grades test papers into a pile, 0:10 sec, zoom into letter grade.

  • break up with boyfriend, cellphone, 0:15 sec, focus on cell phone with a text message.

                                                   

 

Summary:

The PSA video is based on the life of a teenage girl who sees her parents petition papers and goes through an early stage of depression and before the situation brings out the worst someone helps her to prevent it.

 

Evaluation:

  • Is the message clear?

Yes, the message of the video is clear it tells the audience clearly that what the video is about.

 

  • Does your video have a clear beginning, middle and end?

Yes, my video has the clear beginning, middle and end. 

 

  • What do you want the viewer to do?

I want the viewer to watch the video and learn the lesson that i m trying to spread. Always get help and talk to others about your problems don't stay quiet because unspoken words can cause serious issues.

 

  • Is all of the content in your project created by you and/or your fellow producers?

Yes, we planned our project before filming it. Most of the thoughts are our own but since the video is about depression it relates to other videos that are produced to spread the same message. For Example; sadness and loneliness have been shown before in videos related to same message.

 

  • Is your video family friendly and appropriate for viewing at school (ie. language and content)?

Yes, the video is appropriate and it's meant to be an informative video for teens who are facing the same issue.

 

  • Does it start with at least 10 seconds of video black and ends with a minimum 5 seconds of video black?


It doesn't start with the 10 seconds of video black but it ends with 5 seconds of video black.
